I’m heading home to Houston tomorrow for a wedding (#2 of this year’s 8), to spend some time with my family, introduce Hannah to the great state of Texas and FINALLY take Andrew on a tour of the famous Blue Bell Creamery!
He’s bugged me to schlep the 70 miles out to Blue Bell’s headquarters in Brenham, TX every time we’ve gone to Houston over the last four years. This time, we’re making it happen. The mecca of ice cream deliciousness awaits…

I’m alive! I’ve been all over the place this last week with guests in town, work, Hannah’s post-spay recovery, computer repair, life, etc. But I’m back! And these Tumblr hiatuses of mine have got to stop.

Hannah’s Spaying is over!
It’s done! She’s alive! The vet said she did great! I am SO happy!
She may not be able to have her own babies, but she’ll ALWAYS be my baby…
My cutie pie is getting spayed today… :(
I know it’s a procedure almost all dogs go through, but after losing perfectly-healthy Phoebe to an anesthesia overdose during a routine dental cleaning two years ago, the whole thing makes me incredibly nervous. I’m sure Hannah’s vet thought I was a complete psycho when I dropped her off this morning, asking a million questions, BEGGING them to monitor her more closely than any other dog they’ve ever put under, etc. Whatever, I don’t care if I’m a crazy dog lady, she means the world to me and I want to be sure they know what’s at stake.
Please keep little Hannah in your thoughts today.

WANTED: Tips for traveling through Northern Italy!
Andrew and I have semi-finalized our summer trip to Europe! It took some comprising and some serious plane, train, and rental car research, but here’s what we’ve come up with:
- Day 1-8: Venice/Florence/Tuscany
- Day 9-14: Southern France (Wedding)/Loire Valley/Paris
That being said, does anyone have any recommendations for Italy, i.e., where to stay? where to eat? sites to see? places to avoid? Any info you have would be much appreciated. Grazie Grazie!
