After five hours of deliberation, we found the defendant guilty of 1) forcible sodomy, 2) abduction with the intent to defile and 3) use of a firearm while committing a felony.

A.k.a.: He’s a total scumbag.

Long story short, the defendant held two prostitutes at gunpoint and forced them to perform sexual acts in his apartment. (Here is an article related to the case if anyone is interested.) He’ll serve at least 28 years in county jail, not including the sentences for 4 other pending charges against him - rape, attempt to manufacture drugs and forcible sodomy/abduction with the victim being his WIFE. Those trials will take place in the coming weeks. This guy is gonna be in prison for life.

Jury duty was intense and emotional, but I learned a lot and thought it was a very rewarding civic experience that I hope everyone has the opportunity to do at some point. Also, glad we could get this sicko off the streets!
