Thank you SO much to everyone, across all social media platforms, for such sweet birthday wishes! I’ve had a huge smile planted on my face the entire day.
It’s been a great year!
On top of the potent cocktails, impeccable company, and fond memories (Andrew took me on our very first date there), the food was delicious, and I’m still having dreams about the tableside guacamole. Ohhhh, it’s so good.
Thanks again for the perfect start to my birthday week, Janie-poo!
I’m back from my brief blogging hiatus and have lots of updates…
First things first, Happy 25th Birthday to this gorgeous girl, my best friend Anna:
AND Happy (one-day early) 25th Birthday to my beautiful roommate Kate:
Secondly, big thank you to my tumblr buddy for sending me such a sweet package this week. It was a really nice surprise and I can’t wait to read this:
Thirdly, my trip to Boston was so much stinkin fun! I was able to spend time with all my friends (and their friends), do some of the freedom trail, see all the major sights, and taste all the yummy food everyone said I HAD to try, like:
cannolis from Maria’s Pastry Shop, and
some delicious chowda from Legal Test Kitchen, and
pasta from Panza in the North End, and
lots of locally-brewed Sam Adams Winter Lager.
I really liked Boston as a city. It’s young, easy to get around, there’s lots to see and do… but I don’t think I could handle the frrrrreezing cold weather. Kudos to all you Bostonians who put up with it, you guys are rockstars.
All in all, life is pretty stupendous these days and it’s just going to get better and better with the holidays approaching. I can’t wait. Hope everyone is doing well!
Hey DCers, here’s a great idea if you’re looking for something fun to do on a date or with friends!
Last night we celebrated Liz’s 25th birthday at Brush N Blush in Georgetown, DC’s newest and only BYOB Painting Class. We had the whole place to ourselves and brought in our own birthday cake, snacks, lots of champagne and wine. Our painting for the night was a sunset scene of the Lincoln Memorial, which in theory was a great idea and done very well by our teacher Mike and some of the girls… my painting, however, came out looking like a Kindergartner did it. Oh well. It was still SO much fun!
Some pictures, for your viewing pleasure:
I definitely recommend doing this with a friend or a fun group! You’ll have a great time and you get to go home at the end of the night with your very own painting!
Dear Kaitlin (a.k.a. missjacobi),
I remember when you randomly emailed me last April about how you wanted to start a blog. I have to tell you… I am SO glad you decided to go through with it. Not only do I think you (and your blog) are fantastic, I’m also so happy we’ve been able to become closer ‘real life’ friends over the last year.
Happy Birthday, gf! Can’t wait to celebrate with you and Lauren this weekend!
P.S. I didn’t actually make this cake - I found it on some random chick’s Flickr page… sorry!!! Let’s just pretend it’s yours.
Happy 24th Birthday to the goigeous, amazing Julianna! Love you so much!
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional - SO excited to celebrate tonight!!!
Last night we celebrated Jane’s 25th birthday at Mie N Yu in Georgetown.
Jane’s been one of my very best friends since childhood and it’s hard to believe that we both turn 25 this year. 25??? Heavens to Betsy… I AM FREAKIN OLD!
Today officially marks the beginning of my quarter-life crisis.
Happy Birthday to my wonderful, handsome and adorable boyfriend, Andrew! I hope you have a fantastic day and an even better 27th year. I love you!

Dinner at Papa Razzi last night: delicious food, lots of wine and best friends.
Katie, can it be your birthday every day?
Happy 278th Birthday, hot stuff.
So, funny story.
Last night Andrew and I ate dinner at Council Oak, this great five-star steakhouse in Hollywood, Florida. Everything from the service to the food to the decor was top notch, absolutely perfect. Until dessert. All of a sudden I look behind me and our waiter is standing there with a cake singing Happy Birthday. Andrew and I look at each other like… whaaaaa… he looks at us, realizes something isn’t right, stops singing, and says “it’s not your birthday is it?” Embarrassed beyond belief, he explains that the person who took our reservation must have goofed up. We told him it was no big deal and all had a good laugh.
Whatever, at least we got a free $60 cake and I got to celebrate my birthday again!!!
Happy early birthday, Jesus! Just wanted to be the first…
I officially have the best boyfriend in the entire world.
He gave me this exquisite leather handbag that I posted about a few weeks ago for my birthday! It arrived a little late because of back-ordering, but so worth the wait. It’s beautiful. The leather, it’s like buttah. Can’t believe he picked it out on his own without any help from my friends. Impressive… and sneaky.
Andrew - thank you times 9994204 million for being such a ridiculously sweet and generous boyfriend. I love the bag so much. It’s perfect. And I love you, too.
