From little lion girl to teddy bear… Hannah looks (and smells) amazing!
The groomer said she was very well behaved too. I’m so proud!
Yes, I am ridiculous and made a ‘haircut inspiration guide’ for Hannah’s first grooming appointment tomorrow morning.
I just don’t want her to come out of there looking like a disfigured ewok.
Hannah’s first doggy date with Malarie and the adorable Porter!
Mal - thanks again for the plaid Christmas bib! She likes it.

How much is that doggie in the window?
Hannah is quickly becoming the perfect little high rise dog… loving the hallways, elevators, neighbors and ‘big city’ sounds. Pretty different from the wide open spaces she grew up with in rural Georgia.
Cutie patootie.
Hi from Hannah!
Full disclosure: I’ve been kind of a stressmeister the last couple of days. Don’t get me wrong, Hannah has been so great - eating, sleeping, taking care of her business, being social, loving, no accidents or problems - like honestly the most well-behaved pup I could ever ask for. Me, on the other hand, I’ve been going through a little bit of a struggle managing all of my new duties. I’m responsible for another life now. I know it’s still (very) new and that we’ll get into a good routine and it will be fantastic, but it’s definitely a big exciting change. If anyone has any ‘new dog mommy’ tips, please send them my way!
Until then, isn’t she a CUTIE PIE??
First off, hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We’re down in Atlanta and had one of my family’s best Turkey Day meals to date. Definitely still in recovery mode. And special kudos to my brother Scott for prepping the turkey all on his own this year. It was delicious, Scotty!
Secondly, WE HAVE HANNAH! More details and pictures to come, but she’s pretty much the sweetest thing in the entire world. I’ve been on cloud 9 since we picked her up on Friday morning (hence the Tumblr absence) and am absolutely amazed at how quickly she’s adapted and taken to me, Andrew and my family with no problems whatsoever. She’s like… a dream dog and I’m SO happy to be her mommy.
Hope everyone is doing well! Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

I HAVE AMAZING NEWS!!!
Some of you may remember my post about Hannah the pup from last month. Long story short: we met, fell in love and I’ve been thinking about her nonstop ever since. Welllll… after weeks of back-and-forth with her breeder and my landlord, I found out that we get to bring Hannah home to live with us in DC!!! We’re picking her up in Georgia on Friday! I’m getting a dog, ya’ll! And not just any dog - we’re talkin the sweetest, cutest, most adorable little Hannah. AHHH!
I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about something.
GPOYW: Puppy Love Edition
I met with my family’s longtime shih-tzu breeder when I was down in Georgia last weekend. As soon as we walked up to the house, we were greeted by fifteen of the sweetest, happiest, most beautiful little pups I’ve ever seen. While they were all precious, there was one that I fell completely in love with… Hannah. She fell asleep with her little head resting on my shoulder, gave me kisses on my nose and stole everyone in my family’s heart.
I’m heading back down to Atlanta for Thanksgiving, which means I have between now and then to convince my landlord that I’ll be a responsible dog owner and that having a house-trained, well-behaved, hypo-allergenic small show dog will not destroy his precious condo. Please wish me luck! I want this dog so badly.
