I really want to host a blind wine tasting party.
Here’s what I’m thinking: I’ll ask friends to bring over a bottle of wine that costs between maybe 10-15 bucks. I’ll cover up the wine labels and write down the descriptions on a card. Everyone will sample all the wines and then try to match the label description to its corresponding bottle. I’ll score up the cards and give the winner a gift card to a local wine shop.
Doesn’t that sound fun??
My coworker is hosting a pre-wedding wine tasting party for her sister and asked for my help in designing a scorecard that guests can use to rank six different wines. The highest-scoring red and white bottles will be served at the wedding reception later this summer.
Above is what I came up with. Nothing fancy, pretty simple. If anyone wants to use this template, feel free to shoot me an email and I’ll be more than happy to send it to you!
Ok so don’t judge… but I just put together this silly little Miss America Contestant Guide and Ballot for the Pageant Party we’re hosting tomorrow night. I might have gone a little overboard, but its nothing fancy and I think it’s fun!
If you’re having a party and want a copy of the word doc to modify and make your own, shoot me an email and I’d be happy to send it over!

I’m going to a ‘red party’ this weekend. Everyone has been asked to bring a little something to eat or drink that somehow incorporates the color red. The options are almost endless, so I’m trying to decide what to make. Here are some of my ideas:
Does anyone have any yummy red recipes? Decisions, Decisions…
Voila the Miss America Viewing Party invitation Kate and I designed! We thought it might be fun to have a few fellow pageant-lovers over to watch.
Gotta say, I’m pretty obsessed with Paperless Post. It’s a great new site that lets you create custom and very classy online invitations. Smell you later Facebook and Evite…
Look who I ran into at Greg’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Party last night - Miss Jenn Harvey! Jenn, will you come give me a baking lesson? I want s’more of those peanut butter chocolate ball thingies and dream bars. Yum!
Last night my roommates and I hosted a little Halloween get together. We had a great turnout - Catwoman, Charlie Brown, Cleopatra and Pocahontas were a few among the guests. Here are some pictures (including one of my witch fingers that turned out GREAT and were a big hit)

It was a lot of fun - thank you to everyone who came!!
Looking forward to tonight’s festivities as well… pics to follow.
Emily over at Cupcakes and Cashmere had the cutest idea that I’m totally stealing. She had a bunch of girlfriends over for an afternoon of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches rolled in sprinkles, spiked apple cider, cupcake decorating and Halloween films. Love the idea - Who wants to come my partay?

Kate and I’s Bastille Day dinner party on Tuesday was definitely a success. We had so much yummy French food and wine and our guests were great.
I got so lucky - my French host brother Maxence from Paris happened to be visiting DC this very week so he was able to come and catch up. Max is the cutest little 19-year-old Frenchie you’ve ever seen. Plus I had the chance to reconnect with some friends from Rennes who I haven’t seen in years.
Definitely a success. (the picture is of pretty crappy quality - sorry about that)

Because today we celebrate the birth of this beautiful person!
Cait, I hope all of your birthday dreams and wishes come true.
Can’t wait to see you and celebrate in neon on Friday!!!
Happy Birthday lover!
